Whitten & Roy Partnership’s co-founder Scott Roy will be speaking at the 2017 Ashden International Conference in London on 13 June. This year’s conference, hosted by Bloomberg New Energy Finance and chaired by the BBC’s Environment Analyst Roger Harrabin, has the theme ‘Scaling clean energy innovation’ and is an opportunity for clean energy innovators, industry leaders, NGOs, investors and academics to discuss current themes and trends in the sustainable energy world.
The discussion panels will be made up of Ashden winners, who will present their work, and external experts in the field. Scott Roy will be speaking on the ‘Developing local skills and capacity’ afternoon panel, given Whitten &Roy Partnership’s experience and expertise on working with SMEs in the sustainable energy sector.
The panel will be debating why having the right people with the right knowledge and skills in the clean energy sector is crucial to its success. Scott Roy will particularly point out a number of key people challenges, such as the risks of impatient company leaders, the absence of effective field and middle sales management, and the dilemma of lacking field sales agents with sufficient experience.
